Template for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Management Options (TACCIMO)

PARTNERS: USDA Forest Service Southern Region (Forest Planning, Forest Management, and Cooperative Forestry)

TACCIMOSUMMARY: Researchers from EFETAC's Southern Global Change Program are collaborating with forest planners and managers to develop the Template for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Management Options (TACCIMO), a web information interface intended to facilitate the integration of climate change science into land management planning. The overarching goal is to provide land managers and planners with the best available science they need to effectively and efficiently sustain forests and the services they provide under a changing climate. Functionally, this means facilitating the review of current climate change forecasts, threats, management options and how they may impact forest management and planning.

TACCIMO development work will proceed on three mutually reinforcing fronts:

  • web development
  • literature review (database development)
  • regional sessions
