TACCIMO: Template for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Management Options
A major challenge faced by the modern forest planner is adequately considering the scientific information available on a given subject. This is especially true with regard to climate change science, so scientists with the Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center are designing TACCIMO, a Template for Assessing Climate Change Impacts and Management Options. TACCIMO will provide forest planners with a user-friendly and interactive portal into climate change science that reports geospatially-explicit climate forecasts and summarizes the most current scientific literature available. In addition to the TACCIMO content delivery system, the tool will be capable of collecting user feedback, ratings of threats and management options, and answers to monitoring questions. This functionality will provide invaluable monitoring capabilities that will help close the loop between scientific research and the information needs of forest planners.
