Biography of Stephanie Worley Firley
Stephanie Worley Firley joined EFETAC in April 2007 and currently serves as a biological science information specialist. She has worked closely with partners from the University of North Carolina Asheville’s National Environmental Modeling and Analysis Center and Southern Regional Extension Forestry at the University of Georgia to develop EFETAC’s website. She is a contributing writer for EFETAC's newsletter, Forest ThreatNet, and her work has appeared in Forest Landowner and Compass magazines. She is a member of the National Association of Science Writers and the University Research Magazine Association. Stephanie is a charter member of the Southern Research Station's (SRS) Green Team, and she coordinates the SRS Bicycle Commuter Program. In 2010, she led an effort to establish a pollinator garden at the SRS headquarters in support of the USDA People's Garden Initiative. Stephanie holds a B.S. in environmental studies (policy and management) from the University of North Carolina at Asheville.
