Robert Herring joined EFETAC's Southern Global Change Program (SGCP) in April 2007 as an IT Specialist Applications Programmer. He joined the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), within the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) in Beltsville, Maryland, in 2004 as an IT Specialist Web Applications Developer. From 2004-2006, he served as the lead web developer of the Agency public website at ARS. He redesigned and redeveloped the Agency public website to conform to USDA policy of web standards and style. Additionally, he has spent several years developing custom web applications and designing, developing, and administering relational database systems. He currently is responsible at SGCP for developing web applications, maintaining database systems, and architecting and implementing IT strategies for the unit.
