National Forest Health Monitoring Research (FHM) Landscape Analysis and Assessment

Our mission is to sustain forests and enhance the benefits they provide. We specialize in quantitative landscape ecology, spatial pattern analysis and modeling, and landscape-based assessment of ecosystem health.

Our clients include international, federal, state, and regional governments; universities; and non-governmental organizations. Our Agency role is to conduct research leading to improved landscape-based ecological assessments, and to assess landscape patterns such as forest fragmentation at a national scale. For example, we contribute indicators and assessments to the U.S. Forest Service Resource Planning Act and Sustainable Forests Reports.
