Welcome to the Eastern Forest Environmental Threat Assessment Center! Our website provides an in-depth view of our research, our team, and our partners – each extremely important to the Center’s goal of creating cutting-edge research, technology, and tools to address current and emerging forest threats. Our award-winning researchers, collaborators, and support staffs are dedicated to creating “science you can use” and these efforts are being shared east-wide, and beyond, as we develop technology transfer and education efforts that reach multiple audiences.
The Eastern Threat Center is committed to putting knowledge and technology to work, and engaging in reciprocal discussions that encourage scientific discovery. Our domestic and international collaborations result in resources and information useful to land managers, natural resource decision-makers, and scientists. We are exploring and expanding forest threats-related conversations with stakeholders, state and federal agencies, universities, non-governmental organizations, and interested individuals whose input adds value to our program goals. Additionally, our research in wildfire, invasive plants and insects, diseases, loss of open space, and climate change and pollution, encourages ongoing science application to contemporary issues. Above all, we strive to accomplish our lab, field, and administrative work in the safest manner possible for everyone involved.
Please visit our site often, as we continually add new updates, products, publications, and interactive tools. Should you have questions about any of our research or technology transfer efforts, please feel free to contact us.
